Coaches Corner
Your host - Coach Dan Thompson

Dan Thompson

Dan Thompson swam IM for Harvard, received an MD from Texas, and was world's fastest butterflier in the 40-44, 45-49, and 50-54 age groups. For six years he coached at Texas Aquatics, where his training program and stroke research attracted national interest: He spoke at the World Coaches Clinic, Pacific Coaches Clinic, and USS Age-Group Coaches Conference. He wrote for American Swimming, Swim Magazine, and the World Clinic Yearbook of the American Swimming Coaches Association. His approach is best captured in an introduction to a masters article on freestyle technique “CONFESSIONS OF A STROKE VOYEUR”.

Hello, fellow swimmers and coaches! After years hunched over a Merlin top tube, I am once again aquatic-and organizing a Coaches Corner for our South Texas web site. We know right well that within every swimmer and every coach there is curiosity, insight, or inspiration along some facet of our sport. We invite anyone in South Texas Masters Swimming to ask a question or give a response. Our Corner is an open forum. Gadflies will drink their hemlock, but not here!
